UK tech companies with a dream of growing their business through exports can receive support with identifying global opportunities and winning contracts overseas at London Technology Week 2016.
London Technology Week 2016 is a Great Way to Expand Your Business Overseas
Background to the Event
London Technology Week is a festival of live events taking place throughout the UK’s capital. It celebrates and cultivates London as a global powerhouse of tech innovation by connecting the entire ecosystem both within London and beyond. This week of face to face networking, discovery and learning creates an inclusive and sustainable growth environment for organisations and social enterprises of all shapes and sizes.
Technology in the UK
The Technology sector is also one of the most vibrant and high growth parts of the UK economy with a GVA of £118bn; it generates £43bn exports and accounts for 1.4m direct jobs, with many more embedded across all sectors of the
economy. The sector grew 32% faster than the rest of the economy in 2010-14. More than 58,000 companies are primarily digital companies; the sector has a high number of start-up and 'born global' businesses. It is both a
vertical sector (UK companies having particular strengths in cloud, data management/analytics, communications, electronic systems, artificial intelligence, sensors, cyber and semi-conductor design) and a great enabler across all
priority sectors of the economy.
